Today was one absolutely perfect day in Seattle. Sunny and warm with a slight breeze, powered by Swedish pancakes from brunch with my Mum, it was time to do some more planting. My order from Johnny’s Selected Seeds arrived and, with a few hours labor to do final prep on the beds, well, we’ll just have to wait and see what comes.
This year’s garden was a bit of a surprise, tossed together by some changes in circumstance and support from good friends. Sometimes plans need to change and what’s best is taking things as they come. Whatever comes up, that’s the best way to sow a path forward.
There’s an old saying that cleanliness is next to godliness. I humbly disagree. When you get your hands dirty and put a little sweat, toil, and love in the ground and up pops the very things that sustain us as human beings, that, my friends, that is very close to any nirvana.
